Information<\/h2>\n<p>All sections of the application must be completed, and application must be signed to be eligible.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Complete the online application with the following requirements:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Copy of applicant\u2019s current high school or college transcript.<\/li>\n<li>One letter of recommendation from a non-relative teacher, mentor or coach.<\/li>\n<li>Information regarding participation in school, community, and\/or work activities.<\/li>\n<li>Respond to three essay questions in your own words:\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>What are your academic and\/or professional goals and why?<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Describe a time you helped someone or made a positive difference in your community. What did you learn from it?<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>How will this scholarship make a difference to you?<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Completed scholarship applications must be submitted online on or before Sunday, March 1, 2026 by 11:59p.m. to be eligible for consideration.<\/p>\n<h2>General Information<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants must be the primary owner of a Sound account. To be eligible for consideration, the account must be open and active by January 31, 2026.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must be a graduating high school senior or pursuing continuing education.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants must have a 2.50 cumulative G.P.A. or higher through their senior year of high school.<\/li>\n<li>Applicant must be students in good standing.<\/li>\n<li>Application must be submitted online by Sunday, March 1, 2026.<\/li>\n<li>All Sound Credit Union Board Members, Audit Committee Members, staff, and the immediate family of those listed previously are not eligible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Amount &amp; Terms of Award<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Twelve $2,500 Sound Credit Union scholarships will be awarded. Scholarships are awarded only once and are non-renewable.<\/li>\n<li>All funds disbursed will be made payable to the student\u2019s college or university of choice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Application Procedure &amp; Deadline<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the online application form at soundcu.com\/scholarships by Sunday, March 1, 2026.<\/li>\n<li>DEADLINE: All materials and applications are due Sunday, March 1, 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Basis of Selection<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The selection committee will score scholarship applications based on the categories below.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School Activities &amp; Leadership<\/li>\n<li>Community Involvement &amp; Work Experience<\/li>\n<li>Academic Performance<\/li>\n<li>Essays<\/li>\n<li>Letter of Recommendation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Other Information<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The selection committee may request to interview applicants in person or by phone.<\/li>\n<li>Only selected applicants will be notified in writing by Wednesday, April 15, 2026.<\/li>\n<li>Application information provided will remain confidential.<\/li>\n<li>Please do not include photographs with application.
