My May Goals

Gosh I actually can’t believe that we are in May already! This year seems to be flying by – we are practically half way through now which is quite scary actually…

I love the start of a new month; it feels like a fresh beginning, especially when the weather is finally starting to warm up a little (emphasis on the word little as despite the blue skies it’s freezing here today!) I thought I’d embrace that feeling of a new start and take a few moments out of my day to set myself some little goals for the month ahead 🙂

Spring Clean

Our flat is overdue a good thorough spring-clean and declutter so that’s definitely something I want to get done this month – a full on top-to-bottom clean and sort through. I also want to repaint the kitchen as part of this – the white is starting to look a little faded and could do with a refresher coat so think I will spend some time one weekend getting that done aswell. That way the kitchen will be fresh, clean AND looking pretty all at once.

Catch Up With Friends

As you might know I suffer from anxiety and sometimes find the idea of having to go out and socialise exhausting. That being said I know that when I do spend time with friends I feel a lot better for it – I am more relaxed, I have a great time, and every single time I come home hoping that it won’t be long until our next catch up. This weekend I had a fab brunch with Mel and Liz and we laughed, drank plenty of prosecco and bloody marys, mooched around Spitalfields Market and just generally had fun and it was such a mood booster for my whole weekend. That’s why I’ve put this down as a goal for me for the next month; I want to spend more time with my friends doing simple things together.

Capsule Work Wardrobe

I’m going to be starting a new job next month *yay* so want to spend some time this month beginning to build my capsule work wardrobe – finding some budget friendly basics that will work for a corporate environment and make it quick and easy for me to get ready in the morning. Oh and alongside this I need to turn my wardrobe back into an actual space to hang clothes rather than the yarn and storage cupboard it is at the moment! When working from home I could have everything folded in drawers as it didn’t matter if it was creased but now I’ll be office based I want to be able to store my clothes so that they keep nicely pressed and neat!

Keep Up The Fitness

I feel like I’ve done a good job so far of keeping fit and healthy – yes I’ve had off days (ok a couple of off-weeks thanks to half term!) but overall I’ve done well. I’ve lost 14lbs in total so far and am aiming to work out 3 times a week every week – it doesn’t seem like a lot but that’s quite a bit of my time to dedicate to the gym! By the end of May I would like to have lost another 6lbs – wish me luck 🙂
