The Bucket List – Learn, Do and Go

I love to travel, try new things and learn whenever I possibly can. You might remember that late last year I shared my Bucket List (or F*CK it) List on the blog – if you’ve not seen it you can find it here.

It’s been a while since I have had a chance to update my Bucket List and I’ve checked a few things off of it since (and added some more bits and pieces!) so I thought I’d reshare it and keep you up to date with how it’s all going. I realised that in my first post it was quite hard to read the things that I’ve crossed through as completed so have changed anything that’s been done to red and anything new is in green!

What’s a ‘must-have’ bucket list item for you?

Love these bucket list suggestions! We swam with whale sharks in Mexico and it was honestly one of the most incredible experiences, so that is worthy of being on your list! Also South Africa is one of my favourite countries, so glad thats on there too! Hope you get to do all of these amazing things!

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 4, 2017 at 5:24 pm

Wow I would love to swim with sharks – I used to want to be a marine biologist and so really that ought to be on my bucket list! 🙂

  • Reply Cath August 4, 2017 at 4:52 pm

That’s quite a list you have there, good luck with it

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 4, 2017 at 5:24 pm

Thanks Cath – it sure is substantial but always better to dream big!

  • Reply WhodoIdo August 4, 2017 at 7:43 pm

My bucket list seems to be getting longer! Would absolutely love to see the Northern Lights. My husband and I have talked about doing a road trip across USA for 6 months and also travel from Sydney to Perth in a camper. Oh the roller disco is great fun! ; )

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 4, 2017 at 8:03 pm

I’ve not really looked into Australia but a USA roadtrip would be incredible!

  • Reply lexie August 4, 2017 at 8:48 pm

Wow that’s a long list over there, I’m curious of your progression. If its me I would try the same too why not bucketlists may ressemble an impossible dream to make but if you pursue things might turn on positively and who knows you can finish all this bunch of countries. I would love to add South Korea in Asia though plus Croatia and Iceland . thanks for this cool article.

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 4, 2017 at 8:51 pm

Thanks Lexie – I adored Croatia and Iceland but have not really looked into South Korea (will do some research!)

What an inspirational list! One of the things I hate about these lists (for me anyway) is that no matter how many things I check off, I always seem to add 3 more! As someone who likes to complete things, I find my list annoys me! But, I suppose there are worse problems to have!

Congrats on checking so many of yours off in the last year! You’ve been busy!

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 9:28 am

Oh gosh I am the exact same with lists – this one not so much as it’s a reminder of what i’m working towards. Whenever I have a bad day at work I open it up and it’s an instant reminder of exactly why I work so hard 🙂 xx

  • Reply Roamingourearth August 4, 2017 at 10:47 pm

That’s an awesome bucket list. Looks like you have a lot to cover! Keep me posted it you are ever heading to South Africa. Would happily assist where I can (I live here)
A few years ago, I went shark cage diving in the South Coast. It was an experience of a lifetime.
We recently got back from Kenya where we got to feed giraffes. Absolutely amazing experience.

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 9:29 am

Wow I would love to go shark cage diving! I’ve added a safari to my list as it would be such an incredible experience. Thanks 🙂

  • Reply Anushka August 5, 2017 at 3:43 am

Wow what a vast bucketlist, but that’s what we travelers are as we tick one place in our bucketlist we add few more, you covered almost everything. Right now in my bucketlist is scuba diving.

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 9:30 am

Yep there’s always more to add so it’s never going to be a list where I get to tick everything off! For a start i’d need to win the lottery to afford it all! x

  • Reply lloyd August 5, 2017 at 4:03 am

wow! you have your work cut out with that list but best of luck to you! roller disco, oh my that takes me back when i was a kid 🙂

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 9:31 am

I definitely do have my work cut out – it’s pretty long and I hope to get as much ticket off as I can – slowly but steadily making plans to cover it 🙂 I’ve never been to a roller disco but they look like such fun!

  • Reply Inge August 5, 2017 at 9:50 am

Great list! I want to do most of these things too! Except for sleeping in a haunted place… Never!

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 9:52 am

Ha my husband isn’t keen on that one either so if I do it it’ll be alone!

  • Reply Lisanne August 5, 2017 at 10:15 am

What an inspirational list! Do you have a certain age you want to do all this before?

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 10:27 am

No time limit (there’s way too much on there to set a limit ha!)

  • Reply Vicki August 5, 2017 at 10:56 am

Wow seems like you will be really busy covering them all. I also share the dolphin one. It’s a big dream of mine. Yesterday I was able to meet an elephant and have a bad in the dirt with them in Thailand. Absolutely amazing experience. Keep us posted on how you fulfill all these dreams. All the best for it!

I can see myself in so many of the things listed in your bucket list! Well… maybe except for the pub brawl! 😀

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 12:29 pm

🙂 I am a massive beer fan so a pub crawl would be a great way to try lots of new beers (and bars!)

  • Reply Ruth August 5, 2017 at 12:13 pm

What a list! I might have to adopt a few of your goals for my own bucket list 😄

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 12:29 pm

Thanks Ruth! It was great actually writing them all out 🙂

  • Reply Raquel August 5, 2017 at 12:39 pm

You’ve put a lot of thinking time to create this extensive bucket list! I have many of these items on my list too 🙂 I am particularly looking forward to Iceland!:) Scuba Diving is awesome!! You will love it!

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 11:00 pm

Iceland was incredible! One of my favourite trips ever and I’d love to go back!

  • Reply Lyf&Spice August 5, 2017 at 2:55 pm

I love the way you have categorized items in your bucket-list. I agree with you that there are so many different types of targets to be achieved across categories that a common bucket-list can’t be framed.

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 11:01 pm

Thanks 🙂 I love travel so it of course features heavily but there are so many other things I’d love to do too that i couldn’t leave off!

  • Reply Joyce August 5, 2017 at 4:58 pm

Gong to Morrocco and living in a different country are on my long and ever changing bucket list as well!

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 11:02 pm

I’d love to live in a different country but the hubby isn’t keen so that will have to wait many years I think! 🙂

  • Reply Lena Ameri August 5, 2017 at 7:30 pm

What a great bucket list! We recently went to Colombia and LOVED it!!! Also, saying yes to experiences is so important! You never know what saying yes can bring you.

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 11:03 pm

Completely agree – some of the best things I’ve ever done were from saying yes when the opportunity presented itself! 🙂 x

  • Reply Ambuj Saxena August 5, 2017 at 7:42 pm

What a bucket list! Unlike you, I keep getting flashes of things i wish to do and places I wish to visit but never keep a stock of them. However, among the green items, I think scuba diving and swimming with dolphins can be done in India. I took a scuba diving course in Andaman islands and once when i was swimming on the famous Radhanagar beach, we saw a dugong (a sea cow) swimming alongside us. Since it is herbivorous so it didn’t harm us but it was still worth the experience! Time to plan a trip to India I guess?

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 11:04 pm

Wow that sounds like an incredible experience! I would love to visit India – would you say it is a child friendly country to travel around? 🙂

  • Reply Sarah Shumate August 5, 2017 at 10:58 pm

Well, that is quite a bucket list! You’ve pretty well covered everything, I think, except your USA road trip should probably also include a stop in Nashville, not that I’m partial or anything. 🙂 (That’s technically “home” for me, even though we’ve been living in other countries the past few years.) Good luck making your way through the list – if you even complete half of these that would be one heck of a good life story to tell.

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 5, 2017 at 11:06 pm

Oh Nashville goes without saying for me 🙂 I’m a massive country music fan and so have to go to Nashville, Memphis and Pigeon Forge! I hope to get through as many as I can – can only give it my best shot! x

Now that’s a huge bucket list! I would totally love to go whale watching too, and also see Dita von Teese! I have seen Miss Polly Rae who is the UK equivalent and it was amazing!

I love your bucket list and how you’ve divided it up into experiences, places to visit, and skills! I still have yet to go to a music festival, but I would love to someday. Also, I see that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a new addition to your travel list – it’s a country well-worth the visit. Thanks for sharing!

    • Reply bettertogetherhome August 6, 2017 at 11:59 am

Thanks Ania! Music festivals are great and there are so many to choose from – I tend to enjoy the smaller ones more 🙂
