My favourite seasons of the year are Autumn and Winter. I love it when the weather gets cooler, the leaves start to fall and the coats start arriving in the shops!
Dressing for this time of year is the best! I love the layers, how it’s perfectly ok to wear all-black every day, and the rich colours.
I was planning to do some shopping this month as I have hardly any Autumn Winter clothes. However, I then signed up for No Spend October *argh*. I put together a little wishlist of the things I’ve got my eye on and thought I’d share it with you. Now I just have to hope they are still in stock in November!
The Autumn Jacket
So you already know my favourite season is Autumn. You might also know that my favourite colour is red. And that my favourite print is tartan. Therefore it goes without saying that this jacket from River Island is at the top of my wishlist! I am in LOVE with it.
I also love the fact that tartan is ‘in’ this year – however, let’s be honest here – it’s never been ‘out’ of my wardrobe!
In the past, I’ve always shied away from blazers as I felt that they made me look very masculine.
However, I’ve recently come to appreciate how good a well-tailored blazer can look. I love this one from Zara.
I’m a ‘bigger’ girl (size 14) and I have boobs yet am quite short. This, unfortunately, means that a lot of the blazers in the shops don’t fit me very well. That being said I have discovered the joy of having a high street item adjusted to fit me by a local seamstress. And let me tell you I will never go back to simply wearing blazers straight off the rack!
Simple fitting adjustments make the basics look like they were made bespoke and they are so much more flattering.
I don’t actually wear skirts in the summer months. I don’t like my legs without tights and the chafe *oh god the chafe*. And so for me, skirts come into their own in the Autumn. I love pairing shorter skirts with black tights and ankle boots. Both of these beauties are from Zara. You can find the contrasting tweed one here, and the pearl-studded one here.
Oh Knitwear – how I love you so! Forgiver, concealor of food-babies, easer of office-aircon. There’s always room in my wardrobe for more knitwear! Especially when it’s red, slouchy and off-the-shoulder like this New Look beauty!
My obsession with ankle boots shows no signs of abating this year. I have worn most of mine out and so will be replacing them this year. I’m thinking of a pair of black chelsea boots like these, plus a heeled pair too. I still have my gorgeous tan and leopard print ankle boots from Joules as well – they look even better now they’ve aged.
I don’t actually NEED a new bag but I do LOVE this Accessorize one. The military-esque style is right up my street and I love the embellishments.
I’m not a big jewellery wearer but these pieces from Accesorize’ Autumn Winter range caught my eye – I love how they look like pieces of vintage jewellery. They look like family heirlooms rather than high-street buys. I’d even get my ears repierced for these earrings!
And so that’s it – my Autumn Winter 17 Wishlist. What do you think? What’s on your wishlist this Autumn?
