What we collect

When you leave a blog post comment wordpress (on behalf of Better Together Home) collects the following information:

  • Your name – this is visible to the public.
  • Your email address – this is not visible to the public and remains private at all times.
  • And optionally, your website address, if you choose to provide it – this is visible to the public.

If you sign up to the Better Together Home email list via Mailchip we require your name and email address.  Neither of these are visible to the public.

What we do with the information we gather

When you leave a blog post comment we require your name so that Better Together Home and other users of the site are able to identify you.  You do not have to use your own name or your full name in the comment section if you do not wish to. Better Together Home will never use your email address, left via comment, for marketing purposes, share or sell your email address to any third parties.

If you wish you can provide a link to your own website when you leave a comment – this allows Better Together Home and our readers the ability to visit your website.  This data is used for no other purposes.  You do not have to provide this information if you do not want to.

If you have opted in to the Better Together Home email list, then we use your name and email address to send you our monthly email, and any other emails as we see fit.  Your details are held securely and are never shared with or sold to any third parties, or used for any other purposes.


We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical and electronic procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How we use cookies

Our blog is hosted on the wordpress platform. WordPress uses traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being viewed.  This helps us analyse data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs.  We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes.

  • If you have previously left a blog post comment, you may request removal of the blog post comment by emailing us at bettertogetherhome@gmail.com letting us know which post you wish to have your comment removed from.
  • If you subscribe to our newsletter via Mailchimp, you can unsubscribe at any point by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter.
